3 Amelia Island Bike Trails for the Adventurous at Heart

The Amelia Island Trail

Hit the best paved bike trail on the island starting in Amelia Island State Park and cruise all the way to Peterspoint Beachfront Park. While you may not want to ride the full 6-miles, every stretch on the Amelia island Trail is nothing less than picturesque. With beautiful trees and water views lining the path, you’ll be happy you ventured out into the maritime forest.

The Timucuan Trail

Whether you’re an avid biker or the type that simply enjoys a leisure cruise when the opportunity feels right, The Timucuan Trail is a shining gem that offers delivers a wonderful experience. This paved trail will lead you through Big Talbot Island State Park which overs excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, as well as convenient beach access, and stunning marsh views. This trail connects to many other trails in the area, so we recommend mapping your route ahead of time.

Fort Clinch State Park Multi-Use Trail

Fort Clinch State Park, one of Amelia Island’s premier parks, features a fantastic multi-use trail for bikers and hikers alike. While this trail is more along the lines of a mountain biking trail, you’ll find it on the northern end of the island.

The Amelia River to Sea Trail

Our island has always been especially biker-friendly, but there’s even more to come! Though not built yet, the Amelia River to Sea Trail (also known as the “Simmons Road Trail”) is sure to be a local favorite. This addition will add Amelia Island to a list of only 15 other Florida communities considered a Bicycle Friendly Community through the League of American Bicyclists.
