amelia island vacation guide

There’s nothing more relaxing than an evening on the water. Feel the wind in your hair and warm sun on your skin on one of our favorite sunset cruises on Amelia Island! These boat tours take guests on a peaceful ride along the Amelia River. Watch as the sunset paints the sky stunning hues of orange and pink. A sunset tour is a perfect activity for a romantic date night or bookend to your trip. Be sure to bring your camera, you won’t want to forget these beautiful sights!

1. Amelia Adventures | Amelia Island Sunset Cruise

Amelia Adventures is our go-to outfitter for kayaking and paddleboarding. Did you know that this adventure company offers a sunset tour of Amelia Island? The Amelia Island Sunset Cruise departs from the dock about two hours before sunset, so you can fully enjoy the sunset. This option also doubles as an eco-tour, as you may spot wild horses as it passes by the Cumberland Island National Seashore. You will also pass by Fort Clinch State Park. The sunset is the star of the show, though!

Sunset cruises are reserved for private groups of up to six guests per boat. Aside from red wine, which is likely to spill and stain, you’re welcome to bring any food and beverage you want on the boat!

2. Sail Amelia | Sunset Sail

Sail Amelia is another great choice for a sunset cruise off the coast of Fernandina Beach. This boat tour company recommends bringing a camera, snacks, and a light sweater on board with you. Enjoy complimentary soda and snacks or bring your own. It’s the perfect way to spend a night on the water!

Sail Back to The Addison on Amelia Island

Which of the sunset cruises on Amelia Island will you attend? You can’t go wrong with either. If you’re here long enough, we recommend trying both! No matter which you choose, come back to The Addison on Amelia Island afterward. Our Fernandina Beach B&B offers 15 charming guest rooms that are the perfect place to continue your peaceful night on Amelia Island.

Consider a stay in Room 12. This guest room features a king-size bed, a comfy reading chair, and a private bathroom with an oversized jetted tub and shower. Guests can also enjoy a private entrance as well as a garden porch. The porch has two wicker chairs where you can sit and enjoy sheltered views of the on-site courtyard fountain and gardens. It’s another great place to enjoy the sunset
